Pastor Bruce
Parker is the eldest of three sons born in Boston, MA. His wife, Sandy, is
the eldest of two daughters raised in Appleton, WI. Bruce & Sandy met at a
church function and were married in Glencoe, IL in 1977. Together they have
raised 6 children: Kristin (married to a pastor in CA), David (married,
working as a computer technician in Seattle), Paul (seminary student in CA),
James (married, working for a CA financial company), Andrew and Kimberly (a
CA Christian college Junior and Sophomore, respectively). Bruce’s hobbies
include music (drums), outdoor activities, sports officiating, and golf.
Sandy loves reading, cross-stitching, horses, walking or hiking, and
spending time with family and friends. Both enjoy camping with loved ones
and praising the Lord for His beautiful creation!
Pastor Bruce received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through the ministry
of the Navigators, discipling and being discipled by saints in that
ministry. Sandy trusted Christ following a back-pack trip to Montana and
participated with her husband in various discipleship ministries. Together
they have served the local church in Maryland, New York, and California and
love to encourage and equip the saints by participating with them in the
work of the ministry.
Before being called to the pastorate, Pastor Bruce owned and operated his
own company, Mobiltape, producing audio and video tapes of meetings,
seminars, and professional training conferences through the US. After a
brief stint as a dental hygienist, Sandy left the workplace to serve her
husband and family at home. She has enjoyed teaching 1st & 2nd grade Sunday
school, served in AWANA, and has facilitated ladies Bible studies over the
years.
Pastor Bruce received his undergraduate degree from Emerson College in
Boston, MA and his Master’s degree from The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley,
CA. Over the past 16 years, he has served as an associate pastor and
Christian school administrator, been the Senior Pastor of two churches,
Faith Baptist Church in Binghamton, NY and The First Baptist Church of
Woodland, CA. While pastoring in NY, he also served 8 years as the chaplain
for the Binghamton Mets (the NY Mets AA affiliate). Pastor Bruce loves the
Lord, His Word, and His people, and has a passion to preach and teach God’s
Truth that sets men free!
